In 1986 four driven innkeepers decided to end the overkill of the so-called "beerpub".
They wanted to distinguish themselves and let all the beerfans know they were there.
Now, after 15 years, the "Alliance of Beerpubs" holds a number of 35 associated beerpubs.
All members need to have a thorough knowledge of beer and their corebusinesses should be the sale of special beers.
In practice this means that their pub should be fully equipped to sell special beers.
For instance every member needs to serve at least 5 beers on draught and a minimum range of 50 bottled beers.
Furthermore, every ATB pub serves the "Beer of the Month". This is either a complete new brand, or a beer which wasn't available before on draught.
All members are to be recognized on the logo shown above.
